This piece is built from a very short sample of Hmong singing. All the material is generated from the same sample except for a very low bass note (F#), which is introduced a couple of times. This low note seemed to me the fundamental to the harmonic structure of the original melody. The structure of the piece is a kind of "theme and variations", but via signal processing rather than melodic transformation.
